Hummus is a great lunch on the go
My wife was the first person to suggest that we go vegetarian.
She wanted us to start eating healthier and she thought this lifestyle would be a great choice for us.
I wasn’t exactly keen on the idea of giving up steak, chicken, fish, and pork, but we were starting to slow down and we weren’t in the best shape of our lives. My wife found a healthy eating meal plan for vegetarians and she convinced me that the new year was the perfect time to start our new lifestyle. I still miss ham and bacon, but the new changes have been easy to make. My wife makes the most delicious gourmet dinners with lentils, chick poes, legumes, and grains. We have meat substitutes that are made from pea protein or tofu. When I really want a yummy burger, I turn to impossible or beyond. They have great fake meat products. It’s been a little harder at work, since I’m constantly on the go. I work at a busy commercial HVAC company that repairs and installs equipment. The guys that work with me think I’m crazy for giving up steak, but I feel a lot healthier since I stopped eating animals every day. When I’m going to be out working on HVAC repair calls all day, I pack a small cooler with hummus and naan. Hummus is filled with protein and flavor and it comes in tons of different flavors. I can always squeeze in ten minutes for lunch, even when I’m in the middle of an HVAC installation. That’s plenty of time for a quick protein packed snack.
