I have been telling my son that you always get what you pay for, but I don’t know if he really gets what I’m saying.
I have had to learn that kind of thing the hard way the past few years myself and now I want him to learn it too.
I used to always like to buy the cheapest things I could. For instance, I would buy the cheapest air filters on the market for my heating and air conditioning system when I should have been purchasing HEPA filters or at least some high quality allergen reducing air filters instead. We should have known that with those cheap air filters, we would not be getting the best indoor air quality in our home. I never really put two and two together, though. I kept right on buying the cheap stuff up until the time that my air conditioning stopped working on me. It was the beginning of the summer, and we were supposed to be getting a hot one that year. The weather was heating up and the air conditioning stopped working. That’s when I decided that I was going to save all of this money by hiring an HVAC company that was cheaper than all of the other ones. Well, they came out and did the air conditioning repair for me, and pretty soon the house was cooling down quite nicely. However, in just a couple of days, the A/C stopped working again. When I called to complain about the fact that they had just fixed it, they charged me to fix it all over again!
